2021 Toyota RAV4 vs. 2021 Nissan Rogue

Overview

If you're looking for a compact SUV, the Toyota RAV4 and the Nissan Rogue are two fantastic vehicles to consider. The rugged Toyota RAV4 has a stylish design with Electronic On-Demand AWD and the Toyota Safety Sense advanced safety features standard on each vehicle. The Rogue has attractive, contemporary styling and similar safety features, but it is slightly less powerful and has fewer standard technology features.

Engine Power

The biggest difference between these two vehicles is the RAV4's hybrid powertrain option. You can charge the hybrid to full in as little as 1.5 hours with a Level 2, 240-volt charger or 12 hours with Level 1, 120-volt charger. While the Nissan Rogue offers standard front-wheel drive and an option of all-wheel drive, a hybrid option is not available.

Performance

When it comes to performance, the standard RAV4 has a clear edge over the Rogue. The RAV4 has a standard 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. With 218 horsepower, it has the power to get up and go. The Nissan Rogue comes with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission, but it is less powerful with only 181 horsepower.

Interior Features

In multimedia options and connected technology, both vehicles have many appealing features. The RAV4 comes with six standard speakers and offers standard options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus Wi-Fi in all models. The Nissan Rogue has four speakers on the standard trim, and it also features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on its high-end models but not in its base model. The Rogue has no Wi-Fi in any trim.
