Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Prius Prime is available in three trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited. You get a unique patterned grille with an active grille shutter, bright projector quad-LED headlights, and heated power-folding mirrors with the LE. On the XLE, you'll notice Prius Prime badging, dual-wave rear glass, and an illuminated charging port with a charging light status display.
Lastly, we have the top-of-the-line Limited with the same 15-inch five-spoke wheels as the other two trim levels, but with rain-sensing wipers, a smart charging cable lock, and LED fog lights as additions.
Engine (Power)
An advanced plug-in hybrid engine design powers the Prius Prime and gives you the ability to travel longer between filling up. You still get impressive power, thanks to the four-cylinder 1.8-liter engine with variable valve timing intelligent technology and Eco, EV, and POWER modes. The electric power comes to life through a lithium-ion battery and a permanent AC synchronous motor to deliver a combined 121 horsepower. You can enjoy a smoother ride thanks to the electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.
Performance
Various performance-enhancing features help to make the Prius Prime not only fuel-efficient but fun to drive as well. You'll find a front-wheel-drive system to help you safely navigate on different road and weather conditions. This is made possible with help from the traction control and enhanced vehicle stability control system. The plug-in hybrid engine allows you to get up to 25 miles of all-electric power on a single charge. You can plug in at home and on the go. When combining electric and gas power, you can drive up to an estimated 640 miles on a single tank.
Interior
Inside Prius Prime, you get a flawless combination of convenience, technology, and premium comfort. The LE comes with fabric heated seats, a cargo area tonneau cover, and a rear 60/40 folding seat. You'll find features such as a premium audio system, integrated navigation system, chrome accents, and soft-touch upper door trim inside the XLE. The high-end Limited comes with a premium JBL sound system, an 11.6-inch touch-screen display, SofTex heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Safety Features
Toyota has set the standard for safety, and it shows with the setup inside each Prius Prime. Every trim level comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 System, including full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control and road sign assist. You'll also get a lane departure warning with a steering assist and a lane tracing assist system. With the Limited, you also get a blind-spot monitor with a rear cross-traffic alert. If you happen to get into a collision, you'll be protected by a high-strength frame and advanced air bag system.
