2022 Toyota RAV4
The RAV4 is a popular crossover SUV in the Toyota lineup. It offers drivers a practical ride with some fun driving dynamics and the latest technology features. For the 2022 model year, the RAV4 received a few minor updates. It has a new headlight design to give it a bolder look, some new exterior color options are now available, and the XLE Premium and up all receive LED fog lights as a standard feature.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level RAV4 is the LE. It has 17-inch steel wheels, power-adjustable outside mirrors, power windows, and LED exterior lighting, including daytime running lights. A step up to the XLE gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, integrated turn signals, and keyless entry.
Another bump to the XLE Premium adds 19-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, and a slightly raised suspension, while the Adventure adds to the exterior look with fender flares and taller roof rails. The TRD Off-Road has all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension, and black exterior trim elements. Finally, the top-level Limited comes with chrome exterior trim and puddle lights.

Engine (Power)
Power for the regular RAV4 comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 203 horsepower and generates 184 pound-feet of torque. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive for all trims except the Adventure. All-wheel drive comes standard with the Adventure trim and is an available upgrade for the rest of the lineup.
Performance
The latest generation RAV4 will accelerate to 60 mph quickly and efficiently. It feels stable when traveling on the highway, and the suspension keeps it firmly connected to the road when taking tight corners. Choosing the all-wheel-drive system adds Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select system with four different drive modes to help enhance traction in all weather conditions and road surfaces.
Interior
There's room for five in the RAV4. The entry-level LE has manual climate control, air conditioning, and cloth upholstery. Going up to the XLE adds dual-zone automatic climate control, and the XLE Premium has faux-leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A heated steering wheel and heated front seats are available, or you can get these standard with the Limited.
The technology features include a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, voice recognition, and Bluetooth. If you want to bump all the way up to the Limited, it will get you an 8-inch touch screen, integrated navigation, and an 11-speaker JBL stereo system. Toyota offers extra tech features, such as a wireless charging pad and extra USB ports, as options.

Safety Features
Every 2022 RAV4 comes with the Safety Sense 2.0 group of safety features. This package includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beam headlights, pedestrian detection, and a traffic sign reader. The XLE adds to this with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Adventure adds hill descent control. The Limited builds on the XLE Premium's features with a digital rearview camera. Depending on the trim, you can also include a surround-view camera system.
