2022 Toyota Venza
Toyota reintroduced the Venza for the 2021 model year as a sleek crossover SUV. It sets itself apart from other SUVs in the lineup by only having a hybrid powertrain and offering a unique Star Gaze panoramic roof with electrochromic glass that can switch from transparent to frosted in just one second. The 2022 Venza carries over without any changes from the previous model year; here's a look at what you can get.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Venza is the LE. It has 18-inch alloy wheels and comes standard with LED headlights, heated and power-folding side exterior mirrors, and integrated turn signals. It also has LED daytime running lights, a hands-free power liftgate, and LED taillights as standard. A step up to the XLE adds 19-inch wheels, projector LED headlights, roof rails, and dual-LED daytime running lights. Another bump to the top-level Limited adds the option for the star gaze panoramic roof and several interior upgrades.
Engine (Power)
Power for every Venza comes from a hybrid setup. It has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and three electric motors that combine to generate 219 horsepower. One of the motors sends power to the Venza's rear wheels, and the other two sit on the front axle, making all-wheel drive standard.
Performance
The Venza quickly accelerates from a stop and will get to 60 mph in just seven seconds, and the gearless transmission maximizes fuel economy. It has a regenerative braking system that kicks in first to power the motors, and then the conventional braking system takes over. The Venza's ride stays smooth and comfortable due to the excellent suspension and soft springs.
Interior
Toyota designed the Venza's interior for comfort and convenience. It has two rows and room for five, with a power-adjustable driver's seat as a standard feature. Cloth upholstery comes in the lower trims, with simulated leather an available upgrade. The XLE comes with heated front seats, and the Limited adds heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a heated steering wheel. There's plenty of tech in the Venza. An 8-inch touch screen comes standard in the LE, along with a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, voice recognition, and satellite radio. The XLE adds a 7-inch digital driver information display and the option for the Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation package, which adds a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a 9-speaker JBL stereo system. Stepping up to the Limited makes these options standard.
Safety Features
Every 2022 Venza comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This bundle includes safety systems such as forward collision warning, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, and lane-tracing assist. It also comes with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. The XLE adds to these safety features with front and rear parking sensors, and the Limited adds a 360-degree surround-view camera system and a digital rearview camera that will display what's behind the Venza even if you have gear blocking the rear window.
