Trim Levels (Exterior)
The bZ4X is slightly larger than the RAV4, and it has more angular exterior lines. The nose has a blunt front end with a large hammerhead shark shape that runs all the way from the hood to the front headlights. The front also has a curved front bumper. Around the back, the rear end has a trapezoid shape with thin taillights that stretch across the entire rear end, a rear hatch, and a trapezoid-shaped bumper. At its initial release, Toyota will offer it in the XLE and Limited trims, both of which will have short overhangs and offer 20-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
A single electric motor powers the bZ4X in the standard setup. It sends power to the front wheels and generates 201 horsepower. An all-wheel-drive version is also available with two electric motors. These combine to put out 214 horsepower.
Performance
Toyota will build the bZ4X on their new e-TNGA platform. It will have a high-capacity lithium-ion battery set flat under the floor to give it a low center of gravity and help it achieve impressive driving performance and handling. The lightweight body, along with the front and rear suspension, will also contribute to its agility. This new Toyota will come with an updated all-wheel-drive system that has a new X-MODE designed for all types of driving.
How do you charge your all-new Toyota bZ4X? If you want the fastest charge possible for your Toyota EV, you can visit a public charging station with available DC Fast Charging or Level 3 charging with this charging time only taking anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. There are also Level 1 and Level 2 charging options, with Level 1 120-volt charging coming standard with the bZ4X and can get completed right at home in a 3-prong outlet with a charge time of around 50 hours. Level 2 240-volt charging is the middle option, that is easily accessible at public charging stations, or you can get this installed at home by a licensed electrician. A full charge with Level 2 charging takes about 9.5 hours from when you see the Low Battery Light.
Interior
Inside, the bZ4X will have new systems and features, including a heat pump for both the heating and air conditioning, front seat radiant foot-and-leg heaters for the driver and passenger, and seat and steering wheel heaters. This new crossover will have two rows of seats and room for five.
The technology is also new and updated. Passengers can operate the 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system and user interface by sight, voice, and touch. The available Drive Connect system offers a navigation system that provides cloud-based map information in real-time, and a new digital key feature allows the driver to hand over the key to other drivers just by using their smartphones. The bZ4X will also offer unique services, such as charging station information, driving range information, and over-the-air software updates. Additional tech features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a digital display in front of the driver.
Safety Features
Every bZ4X will be the first Toyota to have the latest Safety Sense suite. The 3.0 version will come with upgrades to the existing features, and it will add some new technology. It will have a pre-collision system, low-light cyclist detection, a new system that can detect guardrails, and daytime motorcyclist detection. The lane-recognition system is also upgraded, and it will have better lane tracing assist functionality.
