The Subaru Ascent has 6 trim levels. The base Ascent is similarly equipped but without the digital instrument cluster and power driving seat, with the Ascent base trim having a 6-way manually adjustable driver seat.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood of the Highlander is a turbocharged 2.4L engine delivering 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can opt for a 2.5L hybrid engine mated to a CVT. The Highlander can tow up to 5,000 pounds for all trims and comes with multiple drive modes.
The Ascent also employs a 2.4L turbo with a standard CVT. It delivers 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The base model tows up to 2,000 pounds, while other trims have a maximum 5,000-pound towing capacity.
