2024 Toyota Prius Prime Performance Explained
The performance of this PHEV varies across trims. All three Prius Prime models have a 2.0L, four-cylinder engine that produces 150 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, with a hybrid system net power of 220 horsepower. This powertrain is matched with an ECVT transmission and standard front-wheel drive.

The SE has 17-inch alloy wheels with wheel covers, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, LED stoplights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Interior standard features include single-zone climate control, six-way adjustable front seats, 60/40 folding rear seats, an integrated backup camera, and a cargo area tonneau cover.
The SE is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0 system, which can be found on the XSE and XSE Premium trims. This safety suite includes features such as full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, proactive driving assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, and lane tracing assist.
XSE
The standard exterior features for the XSE include 19-inch alloy wheels, bi-LED projector headlights with low and high beams, and heated power-adjustable and folding outside mirrors. This trim comes with a heated steering wheel, illumination notification, a Smart Key system, heated front seats, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
XSE Premium
Some key standard features for the XSE Premium model are a fixed glass roof, a driver’s seat with a memory function, heated and ventilated front seats, a power liftback, and Digital Key. This trim also comes with an eight-speaker JBL audio system and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, wireless Bluetooth technology, and hands-free phone capability.
